Corrections

A handbook about the law is only useful if it is right. This page says what we count as an error, how you can tell us about one, what happens next, and keeps a public log of every correction so that a reader can see what changed and when. The log has a single launch entry today because the site is new, not because nothing has ever needed fixing elsewhere.

What counts as an error

A section or regulation number that does not match the gazetted text. A figure, date or period that differs from the primary document the page cites. A rule described as current after it has been amended or replaced, for example an Act provision now overtaken by one of the 2026 Regulations. A link that no longer opens or opens something else. An operator name or licence detail that does not match the Authority's published list. A typo that changes the meaning of a sentence.

Not errors, and not changed on request: disagreement with what the law says; a request to add, remove or rank an operator; a request to describe a bonus or offer; a request to soften a figure because an operator's terms differ from the Act. Where an operator's terms and the law differ, the page says what the law says.

How to report one

The publisher's contact channel is not published yet. When it is, it will appear on the contact page, and this paragraph will be replaced by the address. A useful report has four parts: the address of the page, the sentence you believe is wrong, the primary document that shows the correct position and the exact place in it, such as a section, regulation, schedule paragraph or table row. A report that cites a news article or another website cannot be acted on until the primary text has been found.

What happens next

The claim is checked against the primary text, not against the report. If the page is wrong, the sentence is corrected in place, the page's updated date changes, and a row is added to the log below naming the page, the change and the reason. If the same error could sit in other pages, those are checked too. If the error changes the answer a reader would have acted on, a short note stays at the top of the corrected page for a time so that returning readers see it. No reply time is promised, because no publisher contact exists yet to promise it; the log is the reply.

What a correction does not do

A correction does not delete the record. The log keeps the date and the nature of the change even when the wrong sentence is gone. A correction also does not change the sources a page lists unless the correction came from a new source, in which case that document and the date it was read are added to the list. The editorial policy describes the checks a page passes before publication; this page is what happens when those checks were not enough.
